Saints Win at Kingwood, 7-3
|
The St. Paul Saints picked up a win at Stable Park, knocking off the Kingwood Knights, 7-3. Starting pitcher Ruben Fernandez, who captured player of the game honors, was a big reason why. In 6 innings, Fernandez surrendered 6 hits, while striking out 9 and walking 4. He allowed 2 runs. The Saints bumped their record to 82-73 with this latest triumph.
Jim Bruce aided the St. Paul cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first. For the game, the designated hitter went 3-5 with 3 singles. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"We cashed in when we had the chance," said St. Paul manager Ismael Rodríguez.
