Hornets Bang Out 6-2 Win Versus Eugene
|
The Bethesda Hornets topped the Eugene Emeralds, 6-2, in Donnie Moore League action at Hornets Field. The player of the game was Bethesda pitcher and Tagajo, Japan native Ryuichi Akiyama. Cedric Gold converted his 3rd save in 5 tries. The 'W' lifts Bethesda's record to 87-68.
Bethesda third baseman Franky van Dijk contributed to the cause with a single in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, van Dijk went 1-3.
van Dijk told the Bethesda Daily News: "I don't know which I enjoy more -- being a ballplayer or the perks that come with being a ballplayer."
