CONEY ISLAND CYCLONES AT CHIPPEWA RIVER CHIEFS

Richardson Goes Wild, But Cyclones Win
Chippewa got a terrific performance from shortstop Terry Richardson, but it wasn't enough to beat the Coney Island Cyclones. Coney Island won the The Reservation contest, 7-6. Richardson was the player of the game despite being on the losing side. He went 3-3 with 2 home runs and a walk. Coney Island reliever Jerry Soto picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Stu Gale absorbed the loss. Coney Island is now 67-88.

The Cyclones got a big at-bat from first baseman Walker Greenan. For the game, Greenan went 1-4 with a home run and was hit by a pitch. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the top of the fifth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 10th home run of the season gave Coney Island a 4-3 lead.

"We'll savor this win," Greenan told the Coney Island Bulletin, "then get ready for the next game."
