It was a good time at Billy Mathews Field, where fans came to watch the Brisbane Bush Wackers and St. Petersburg Pelicans get after it.
The St. Petersburg Pelicans defeated the Brisbane Bush Wackers, 4-2, in Donnie Moore League action at Billy Mathews Field, with St. Petersburg pitcher Eduardo Alaniz named player of the game. The Pelicans go to 71-81, putting them 4th in the Donnie Moore League Dusty Baker Division.
St. Petersburg took a 3-2 lead in the bottom of the seventh inning. With no one out, shortstop Brad Davis hit a solo home run that set the crowd abuzz.
Alaniz attributed the win to "energy and focus on the part of everyone."
