Portland and Rubber City got after it at The Rubber Grounds.
Hajime Ota never let Rubber City get something going. The Portland right-hander commanded his fastball in pitching the Beavers to a 4-0 win. Ota picked up the win for Portland, going 7 innings. He gave up no runs on 4 hits. He now sports a record of 3-2. Olivier Martin was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 14 of 15 save opportunities.
The Beavers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.
"It's a mindset," said Ota. "Just trying to do your job, trying to be consistent."
