Bums Bang Out 7-4 Win Versus West Virginia
|
The rain made it unbearable at times; nonetheless, the faithful who endured the elements at Envoys Ballpark enjoyed themselves.
The Palm Beach Bums topped the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws by the score of 7-4, with the biggest share of the credit going to third baseman Preston Bostic. Bostic went 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Bums on the day. The winner was Hitoshi Miyahira in relief. His record improves to 4-2. Yasukatsu Yonemura took the loss. Ryan Wise got the save, his 27th in 30 chances.
Héctor Ramos helped out the Palm Beach cause in the bottom of the second inning with a 2-run single. For the game, the left fielder was 2-4 with a double and a walk. He drove in 3 runs.
"It's always a heck of a lot easier to get to sleep after a win," Ramos told the Palm Beach Times. "I know I'll rest easy tonight."
The last-place Bums are now 62-87, the Dancin' Outlaws 81-68.
