The Hornets grabbed a win, 3-1, at Hornets Field, overcoming a fine effort from St. Petersburg pitcher Brad Leys. Leys went 7.2 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Bethesda is now riding a 3-game win streak.

The Hornets got a big at-bat from right fielder Miguel Hernández. For the game, Hernández went 1 for 3 with a home run. In the bottom of the fifth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 6th home run of the season gave Bethesda a 1-0 lead.

"We made a couple of mistakes," said St. Petersburg skipper Kurt Brumfield, "and it cost us."
