Black Squirrels Top Bums in Extras

Extra innings were needed to determine a winner at Envoys Ballpark.
The Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the Palm Beach Bums, 8-5, in Donnie Moore League action at Envoys Ballpark, with Tree City pitcher Francis Luck named player of the game. Tree City reliever Mike Mager got the win, raising his record to 4-4. Ryan Wise was tagged with the loss. Cory Kieck got the save, his 39th in 44 chances.
Brian Briggs aided the Tree City cause with a grand slam home run in the top of the tenth. For the game, the left fielder was 1-2 with a home run. He drove in 4 runs and scored once.
"If we play like this, we can win a lot of games," Briggs told the Tree City Gazette.
The losing streak for Palm Beach has now reached 4 games.
