Harris Slugs Bombers to 7-4 Win
|
Conditions were not ideal but South Carolina and Vancouver were able to put their game in the books.
The South Carolina Bombers relied on the hitting of right fielder Shawn Harris to stop the Vancouver Pioneers, 7-4. For the game, Harris went 3-4 with 2 home runs. He scored 3 runs and drove in 2. The winner was Ángel Ruíz, who threw 119 pitches over 8 innings. The left-hander was charged with 4 runs on 7 hits. Ed Armstrong notched his 3rd save in 3 chances.
Rafael Campos, who is rated as the 23rd best prospect by BNN, aided the South Carolina cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the fourth. For the game, the center fielder was 1-4.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Harris. "And not try to do too much."
The Bombers bumped their record to 34-29 with this latest triumph.
