Cook Lifts Sting to 9-6 Win
|
The Houston Sting powered past the Charleston Panthers, 9-6, at Woodland Park. Tyler Cook went 2 for 3 with a home run, a double, and a walk. He scored 2 runs and drove in 4, to lead the charge. Jeff Van Wormer was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 5 of 10 save opportunities. The Sting now own a record of 78-65.
Early in the game, catcher Neal Thacker had a 3-run home run for Houston. It was his 3rd home run of the season and put the Sting on top, 4-3.
When asked about his performance after the game, Thacker said: "Like everyone else, I'm just doing my job."
