With designated hitter Foster Miller leading the charge, the Bethesda Hornets defeated the New Orleans Jedi Knights, 3-2, at The Republic. Miller was 4 for 5 with a double and 3 singles. Abdul-Fattah Arfan notched his 8th save in 10 chances. Bethesda is now 80-61, 2½ games up in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division.
Had Suezo Ine not delivered a key base hit in the top of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and the bases loaded, Ine hit a 2-run single. That made the score 3-1, in favor of the Hornets.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Ine told the Bethesda Daily News.
