Saints Lay Egg, Lose 12-2 to Tree City
|
Tree City beat St. Paul on the strength of starter Rudy Cortez's fine effort. The right-hander led his team to a 12-2 win. Roy Cohn was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 2 of 7 save opportunities. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 73-66 with this latest triumph.
Travis Hickey, who is tied for 9th in the AHL in runs scored with 68, aided the Tree City cause with a run-scoring single in the top of the first. For the game, the second baseman went 1 for 3 with 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once.
"We did more than enough to get the win," said Cortez.
