The Chippewa River Chiefs racked up a win at The Reservation, bumping off the Houston Sting, 4-3. José López, who started for Chippewa, pitched effectively for his team. Stu Gale converted his 14th save in 17 tries. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 82-58 with this latest triumph.

Juan Martínez helped out the Chippewa cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring walk. For the game, the catcher went 1 for 3 with a walk.

"If I go out there and help the team win, that's all you can do," said López.
