Stogies Win at Columbus, 6-3
|
Havana pitcher Joe Jackson did his part in helping his team beat the Columbus Aces, 6-3. The left-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jackson, now 4-1, was the winner. In 8 innings, he gave up 8 hits, while striking out 6, walking 1, and allowing 3 earned runs. The Stogies improved to a lofty 46-19.
The Stogies got a big at-bat from third baseman Chong-yeol Pak. For the game, Pak went 1 for 4 with a home run, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. In the top of the fourth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 8th home run of the season gave Havana a 5-3 lead.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Pak. "And not try to do too much."
