Bums Prevail, 3-1, Over Bethesda
|
Fidel Castro pitched a gem to lead Palm Beach to a 3-1 victory over the Bethesda Hornets. Palm Beach reliever Mario Robles picked up the win, upping his record to 1-0. Gabriel Martínez shouldered the loss. Ryan Wise got the save, his 23rd in 26 chances.
The Bums got a big at-bat from first baseman Ric Witkoski. For the game, Witkoski went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He scored 2 times. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 3rd home run of the season gave Palm Beach a 1-0 lead.
Witkoski said the team appreciates the support from the fans. "I'm glad we could reward them with a good win," he said after the game.
The Bums raised their record to 56-80.
