Black Squirrels Topple Frosties as Mena Shines
Getting a good performance from shortstop Ivan Mena, the Tree City Black Squirrels defeated the Barrow Frosties, 12-6. Mena was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles, while scoring 3 runs and driving in 4 for the Black Squirrels. The Black Squirrels bumped their record to 72-65 with this latest triumph.

Mena contributed a big hit, a 3-run home run, for Tree City in the bottom of the second. With his team trailing 2-1, Mena took a cutter from Nobuhiko Newton and stroked the home run to right. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Black Squirrels to leap in front, 4-2.

"You can't get too high when things go well, or too low when things go bad. Right now, I'm just happy we got the win," Mena told the Tree City Gazette.
