Marauders Drop Earthquakes with Late Score
|
Maple rode a fine outing from starter Will Caron to victory over the San Francisco Earthquakes at Golden Gate Park. The final score was 2-1. Maple reliever Bryce Hesketh picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Lloyd Huggins took the loss. Marcos León converted his 14th save in 18 tries.
Andreas Kubel made it 2-1, Maple, in the top of the eighth when he drew a walk, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Marauders win.
Caron told a Maple Citizen reporter that he was "more than satisfied" with the win.
The Earthquakes, at 21-41, have lost 8 straight games.
