Sting Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
The Houston Sting did just enough to secure a 4-3 victory over the Brisbane Bush Wackers at Baylor Ballpark. Nobody did more than pitcher Gabriel Núñez, who captured player of the game honors. Houston reliever Jeff Van Wormer picked up the win, upping his record to 5-4. Joel Savage shouldered the loss. Houston now sits in second place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division at 74-60.

The result might have been different for Houston, had it not been for David Kopacki. The second baseman produced a run-scoring walk in the top of the tenth inning to put the Sting ahead, 4-3. For the game, Kopacki had 1 double and 1 single in 4 at-bats.

"It was a test of wills," said Héctor Flores, the Houston skipper. "I'm glad we came out of it with a win."
