In a low-scoring tilt between the Victoria Vikings and the Houston Sting, Eric Stark was the difference-maker. The Victoria right-hander earned player of the game honors in the 2-0 win. The Vikings bumped their record to 80-52 with this latest triumph.

Victoria used the timely hitting of Carlos Avendano to capture the win. The right fielder stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Vikings on top, 1-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.

"It's no secret that good defense follows around people who throw strikes," said Victoria manager Bernardo Moreno.
