Bloodhounds Score Late to Upend Road Warriors, 8-2
|
Boise pitcher Francisco Martínez did his part in helping his team beat the Westside Road Warriors, 8-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Boise reliever Justin Bolling was the winner. His record is now 4-4. The losing pitcher was Paul Nuckols. At 55-76, Boise is in 5th place in the Lyman Bostock League Earl Weaver Division.
The Bloodhounds got a big at-bat from designated hitter Ed Villegas. For the game, Villegas went 1 for 4. In the bottom of the eighth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 100th hit of the season gave Boise a 3-2 lead.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Villegas said.
