Carney Helps Knights Run Win Streak to 3
The Kingwood Knights bested the St. Petersburg Pelicans by a score of 13-6, with center fielder Mike Carney getting the main credit. On the day, Carney went 3 for 3 with a double, 2 singles, and 2 walks, while scoring 2 times and driving in 3 for the Knights. Kingwood reliever Josh Crowe was credited with the win, to go to 5-5. Orlando Rivas took the loss for St. Petersburg. Kingwood is now riding a 3-game win streak.

Carney had a game-changing double in the bottom of the sixth. On a 2-1 fastball from Orlando Rivas, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Knights a 7-5 lead. It was the 6th double of the year for Carney.

"Getting a lot of baserunners and getting some timely hits, it's a good combination," said Carney.
