The Kingwood Knights topped the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 6-3, at Stable Park. Kingwood right fielder Billy Mumford earned player of the game honors. He banged out 1 single and 1 double, while driving in 3 runs. Kingwood reliever Natsume Sasaki was credited with the win, to go to 5-1. Eduardo Alaniz took the loss for St. Petersburg. Kingwood now sits at 59-69, while St. Petersburg falls to 57-69.
Early in the game, Mumford had a bases-clearing double for Kingwood. It was his 5th double of the season and put the Knights on top, 3-0.
"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Mumford said after the game.
