The Westside Road Warriors grabbed a 3-2 win over the Tree City Black Squirrels at Road Warriors Field. Westside pinch hitter Toshiya Shiraishi was 1 for 1 with a home run to earn player of the game honors. After today's action, Westside sits at 56-69, while Tree City falls to 64-60.
Shiraishi had a game-changing home run in the bottom of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Cory Kieck, he banged a solo home run to left, giving the Road Warriors a 3-2 lead. It was the 2nd home run of the year for Shiraishi.
"We take it day by day here," said Shiraishi, "and today was a good one for us."
