Victory Pushes Hornets Record to 74-52
|
The Bethesda Hornets got a good effort from starter Franck Guillaume in defeating the Houston Sting at Woodland Park. The final score was 3-1. Guillaume, the winner, moves to 8-7. He threw 6 innings of 2-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Abdul-Fattah Arfan converted his 5th save in 5 tries.
Suezo Ine, who is tied for 8th in the AHL with a .306 batting average, aided the Bethesda cause with a 2-run double in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4 with a double, while adding 2 RBI.
"It was a solid team effort and we'll try to keep this momentum going," Guillaume told reporters after the game.
Bethesda leads the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division by 6 games.
