Princes Squelch Emeralds Offense in Shutout Win
The Eugene Emeralds got a superb performance from pitcher Elias Ortiz. Still, it wasn't enough to beat Bel Air. The Princes won the game, 5-0. In spite of the loss, Ortiz was named the player of the game. He threw 8 innings of 4-hit ball. Fernando Buzo, the winner, improved to 4-1. He held Eugene to no earned runs on 3 hits over 5.2 innings, while racking up 6 strikeouts. John Balis got the save, his 2nd in 2 chances.

Aaron Kelch, who is tied for 5th in the AHL with a .853 OPS, aided the Bel Air cause with a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the fifth. For the game, the first baseman was 1-4.

"We cashed in when we had the chance," said Bel Air manager Leland Austin.
