Jedi Knights Slip Past Winfield, 4-3
|
The Jedi Knights had to overcome a good performance from Winfield pitcher José López to claim a 4-3 win at The Barn. López went 5.1 innings and allowed 3 earned runs. Jon Simmons picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-1. Chris Wilson was tagged with the loss. The Jedi Knights bumped their record to 68-56 with this latest triumph.
This game was not decided until late. With one out in the top of the ninth, Tom Burns hit a sacrifice fly. The Jedi Knights took the lead, 4-3.
"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Burns. "And not try to do too much."
