Fans who gathered at The Reservation saw a good contest between the Charleston Panthers and Chippewa River Chiefs.

The Charleston Panthers topped the Chippewa River Chiefs, 5-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation. The player of the game was Charleston catcher Gerald Easler. Zach Hensler picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Brad Ide was tagged with the loss. Bill Neville was credited with the save. He has now successfully converted 3 of 3 save opportunities.

Hung-k'uei Hsiao hit a run-scoring double off Brad Ide in the top of the ninth, which put the Panthers in front, 4-3. In addition to the double, Hsiao had 1 single, while going 2 for 4.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Easler. "And not try to do too much."

The 5th-place Panthers now have a win-loss record of 56-67.
