Pioneers Bang Out 7-6 Win Versus Cabo San Lucas
Both teams had their chances, but the Vancouver Pioneers eventually prevailed at "The Fort" at B.C. Place.

Moo-hyun Boone did all he could to help his team win. In the end, though, it wasn't enough to keep the Cabo San Lucas Toreros from losing, 7-6, to the Vancouver Pioneers at "The Fort" at B.C. Place. Boone went 4-4 with a home run and 3 doubles, while scoring 3 runs. Vancouver, now 1-6, is off to a slow start.

The Pioneers got a big at-bat from right fielder Akio Ishii. For the game, Ishii was 3-4 with 2 doubles, while scoring 2 times and driving in 2. In the bottom of the sixth, with a runner on 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 2nd double of the season gave Vancouver a 6-5 lead.

"I'm proud of the boys for pulling through," said Pioneers manager Kojuro Ohayashi. "The wins don't come easy for this team, but everyone's got an extra jump in their step after a game like this."
