Frosties Use Late-Game Magic to Beat Bush Wackers
|
The Barrow Frosties topped the Brisbane Bush Wackers by the score of 10-6, with the biggest share of the credit going to first baseman Adam Wendt. Wendt went 2-3 with a double and 2 walks, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2 for the Frosties on the day. Barrow reliever Willie Penaloza was the winner. His record is now 6-0. Tony Torres took the loss. The Frosties move to 62-59 with the win, while the Bush Wackers drop to 79-42.
Jamie Rose, who is tied for 9th in the AHL with a .838 OPS, contributed to the Barrow win with a 3-run home run in the bottom of the eighth. For the game, the left fielder had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 2 runs scored, and 3 runs batted in.
"We were able to get some things going offensively," said Rose.
