Behind the bravura of designated hitter Jerry Mays, the St. Petersburg Pelicans topped the Stroudsburg Shade by the score of 15-11. Mays went 3-5 with a home run and a double. He scored 2 times and drove in 7 for the Pelicans. St. Petersburg reliever Adrian Bogle picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Liu-liang Ying absorbed the loss. Jaiden Harris earned his 26th save in 30 chances.

Mays contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for St. Petersburg in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 11-8, Mays took a changeup from Liu-liang Ying and stroked the home run to right. His 3rd home run of the season allowed the Pelicans to leap in front, 12-11.

"I'm just looking for a good pitch that I can hit well," said Mays. "And not try to do too much."

With the win, St. Petersburg has a record of 50-65. Stroudsburg falls to 46-71.
