Hornets Come Back Late to Clip Emeralds
|
Bethesda and Eugene duked it out at Prefontaine Park and the Hornets came out victorious.
The Bethesda Hornets faced a tough opponent in Eugene pitcher Cristo Cruz, but did just enough to pull out the victory at Prefontaine Park by a final score of 4-1. Cruz went 6 innings and allowed 1 earned run. The first-place Hornets, at 69-46, now lead their division by 6 games.
Nick Corpus made it 2-1, Bethesda, in the top of the eighth when he grounded out, driving in 1 run. It was a big at-bat in the Hornets win.
"We'll pop the top on a cold one and get back to work tomorrow," Corpus said.
