Frosties Get Win, Extend Streak to 5
|
Benefiting from an exceptional performance from Luis Valdez, the Barrow Frosties defeated the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 7-2. Valdez went 2-4 with a home run, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once for the Frosties. The third-place Frosties have won 5 straight.
Valdez contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Barrow in the top of the fourth. With his team trailing 1-0, Valdez took a fastball from Richard Ortiz and stroked the home run to right. His 4th home run of the season allowed the Frosties to leap in front, 4-1.
"One win at a time, one game at a time. We try not to get too far ahead of ourselves," Valdez told the Barrow Chronicle.
