Vikings Drop Jedi Knights with Late Score
|
New Orleans designated hitter Bryan Kirby was sensational. He was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once, but it wasn't enough to rally his team to a win. Victoria beat the Jedi Knights, 6-5. Kirby was named the player of the game despite the loss. Jean-François Blot notched his 3rd save in 4 chances. The Vikings have an impressive 73-41 record.
Ernesto Santiago's hit in the top of the ninth was a game-changer. With two out, he rapped a cutter from Rich Owen for a run-scoring single. It put Victoria in front, 6-5.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Santiago told the Victoria Today.
