Eugene pitcher Francisco Bibian did his part in helping his team beat the Bethesda Hornets, 3-2. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. The Emeralds bumped their record to 57-57 with this latest triumph.

Wil Cruz aided the Eugene cause with a run-scoring ground out in the bottom of the second. For the game, the center fielder drove in one run.

Afterward, Emeralds manager Ricardo Martínez was ebullient. "That was a fun game to coach," he told a group of reporters, adding, "I hope it was just as fun to watch."
