The Stroudsburg Shade defeated the Bethesda Hornets, 3-2, in Donnie Moore League action at Hornets Field, with Stroudsburg pitcher Tom Greer named player of the game. Greer went 5.1 innings to notch the win. He scattered 1 hit, walked 4, and struck out 6. His record improves to 1-4. Stroudsburg is now 45-65.
Stroudsburg used the timely hitting of Ron Gale to capture the win. The third baseman stroked a 2-run double in the top of the fifth inning to put the Shade on top, 3-0. It was his only hit in 5 at-bats, but he made it count.
"We put it together today and came out with the win," Greer said in postgame remarks. "That's the main thing."
