The Kingwood Knights topped the Boise Bloodhounds, 4-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at Grand Canyon Valley Park. The player of the game was Kingwood catcher Sabino Acosta. Steve Vincent got the win, improving to 5-9. He worked 5 innings, giving up 2 runs on 6 hits, while striking out 6 and walking 2. The slumping Bloodhounds have dropped 8 in a row.
Acosta had a game-changing double in the top of the sixth. On a 1-1 fastball from Jordan Garner, he banged a bases-clearing double to left, giving the Knights a 4-2 lead. It was the 24th double of the year for Acosta.
"We did a lot of things right," said Acosta.
