Dancin' Outlaws Lose, 4-1, at The Nut House
|
The Tree City Black Squirrels bested the West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws by a score of 4-1, with right fielder Cole Capone getting the main credit. On the day, Capone was 2-4 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 3 RBI for the Black Squirrels. Tsuginori Oda picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 2-0. Jason Beaton was tagged with the loss. Cory Kieck earned his 29th save in 34 chances.
Capone contributed a big hit, a 2-run single, for Tree City in the bottom of the third. With his team trailing 1-0, Capone took a fastball from Jason Beaton and stroked the single to right. His 97th hit of the season allowed the Black Squirrels to leap in front, 2-1.
"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Capone said.
The winning streak has now reached 6 games for the Black Squirrels.
