Victory Over Hornets Takes Brisbane to 72-37
The Brisbane Bush Wackers beat the Bethesda Hornets, 5-3, at Baylor Ballpark. The win was largely due to the efforts of right fielder Hiroshi Kono, who captured player of the game honors. He went 1-3 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Miguel Torres got credit for the win, improving to 5-1. He allowed 3 runs on 6 hits in 5.1 innings. The winning streak has now reached 7 games for the Bush Wackers.

Kono had a key at-bat for Brisbane early in the game. With runners on 1st and 2nd, he hit a 3-run home run. It was his 9th home run of the season and gave Brisbane an early 3-0 lead.

"I like seeing our guys get a return on what they've put in," said Brisbane manager Pete Barrett.
