River Chiefs Slip Past San Angelo, 10-9
The San Angelo Mustangs got a superb performance from first baseman Orlando Talamantez, but the Chippewa River Chiefs still won the game, 10-9. Talamantez was named the player of the game despite the loss. He went 2 for 4 with a home run, a double, and a walk, while adding 5 RBI and scoring once. Brad Ide picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 7-3. Sam Thomas was tagged with the loss. The River Chiefs bumped their record to 62-46 with this latest triumph.

Chippewa used the bat of Tommy Wilson to get the win. The pinch hitter hammered a solo home run in the top of the tenth inning to put the River Chiefs ahead, 10-9. It was his lone hit in 1 at-bat, but it did its damage.

"We'll grab a cold one tonight and go after another win tomorrow," Wilson said.
