The first-place Victoria Vikings picked up another win at The drakkar.
The Victoria Vikings beat the St. Paul Saints, 10-3, at The drakkar. The Vikings got a fine performance from right fielder Fernando Vera, who captured player of the game honors. He was 3 for 4 with 3 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Reliever José Camacho picked up the win. His record improves to 3-0. Fernando Criado took the loss.
The Vikings got a big at-bat from first baseman José López. For the game, López went 1 for 5 with a home run, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. In the bottom of the third, with a runner on 2nd, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 15th home run of the season gave Victoria a 4-2 lead.
"I just try to see the ball and put a good swing on it," said Vera.
The first-place Vikings, at 70-38, now lead their division by 9½ games.
