Butler Bangs Out 5 Base Hits
It was a parade of hits for Erik Butler of the Nichols Gnats at The Pond today.

Connecting with regularity, Butler finished the day with a total of 5 hits in 7 at-bats, but the Cyclones rose to the occasion and rained on his parade with a 16-12 win.

"Butler was really good, we were just a little better," said Cyclones manager Gerald Pugh in the postgame interview. "It's all right with me if he gets 5 hits every game against us, as long as we win."

Erik Butler hit a solo-shot off Steve Rogers Jr. in the 1st, singled in the 2nd, singled in the 5th, doubled in the 7th, grounded out in the 8th, singled in the 10th and struck out in the 12th.\n

In 104 games this season Butler has batted at a .265 pace with 108 hits and 7 home runs.
