Though he had a great game, Ryan Ward could not single-handedly produce a win for Westside. Barrow won the game, 3-2. Ward was named the player of the game. He was 2-3 with 2 singles and a walk, while adding 2 RBI. Barrow reliever Willie Penaloza picked up the win, upping his record to 4-0. Yonetoshi Morikawa absorbed the loss. Brian Mullins got the save, his 2nd in 3 chances.

The Frosties got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Hidekazu Kaneshiro. For the game, Kaneshiro went 1-1 with a home run. In the top of the eighth, with the bases empty, he stroked a solo home run. His 5th home run of the season gave Barrow a 3-2 lead.

Kaneshiro called the win "a collective effort."
