The Eugene Emeralds got a stellar effort from pitcher Franklin Cadonau, helping Eugene score a 3-1 win over the visiting Coney Island Cyclones. The Emeralds improved to 54-49.

Cadonau, a native of Prince George, Canada, was dealing all game. He kept Coney Island hitters off-balance, while giving the Emeralds 8 quality innings. Cadonau threw 118 pitches, allowing 2 hits and striking out 6.

"We can always improve and get better, but we're feeling confident after that win," said Cadonau.
