Vikings Topple Black Squirrels with Late Rally
|
The Victoria Vikings topped the Tree City Black Squirrels, 4-3, in Lyman Bostock League action at The drakkar. The player of the game was Victoria pitcher and Shihezi, China native Jack Thompson. Victoria reliever Jean-François Blot picked up the win, upping his record to 3-1. Cory Kieck absorbed the loss. Victoria has now reeled off 7 straight wins.
Mel Dominguez was the walk-off hero for Victoria. With the game tied in the bottom of the ninth inning, the Vikings shortstop hit a dramatic run-scoring single to send the teams home.
"I like what I saw today," said Victoria manager Bernardo Moreno, "and I can't wait to get back out there and do it again."
