Carranza Helps Boise Outscore Barrow
Getting a good performance from first baseman Carlos Carranza, the Boise Bloodhounds defeated the Barrow Frosties, 13-10. Carranza went 2-4 with a home run and a walk, while scoring 2 times and driving in 4 for the Bloodhounds. Dave Castro picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 1-0. Fidel Betancourt was tagged with the loss. The 4th-place Bloodhounds now have a win-loss record of 43-56.

Carranza contributed a big hit, a grand slam home run, for Boise in the bottom of the first. With his team trailing 2-0, Carranza took a cutter from Fidel Betancourt and stroked the home run to left-center. His 5th home run of the season allowed the Bloodhounds to leap in front, 4-2.

"You know, at the end of the day, it's about who scores the most runs," said Boise manager Nick Brown.
