The West Virginia Dancin' Outlaws beat the St. Petersburg Pelicans, 5-4, at Penlee Park. The win was largely due to the efforts of catcher Jaime Valéncia, who captured player of the game honors. He went 2-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once. Pedro Morales got credit for the win, improving to 4-3. He allowed 2 runs on 2 hits in 1.2 innings. After today's action, West Virginia sits at 54-39, while St. Petersburg falls to 39-53.

The game turned with no one out in the bottom of the fourth when Valéncia hit a run-scoring double. It propelled the Dancin' Outlaws into the lead, 4-3.

"I was a little disappointed," said St. Petersburg manager Kurt Brumfield. "We could've and should've scored more runs."
