Thrilling Walk-Off Win for Emeralds

Both teams had their opportunities, but in the end, the Eugene Emeralds got the win.
Eugene beat Bel Air at Prefontaine Park, eking out a 4-3 win. The win was due in large part to pitcher Elias Ortiz, who earned player of the game honors. Cody Mason picked up the win in relief, improving his record to 3-3. Shayne Cluff was tagged with the loss.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Eugene pinch hitter Sancho Gonzáles, facing Shayne Cluff, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Emeralds the 4-3 win.
"We'll relax tonight and enjoy this win," said Ortiz.
Eugene occupies second place in the Donnie Moore League Tommy Lasorda Division at 50-46.
