It was a good time at The Reservation, where fans came to watch the Okanagan Lake Monsters and Chippewa River Chiefs get after it.
The Chippewa River Chiefs topped the Okanagan Lake Monsters, 6-2, in Lyman Bostock League action at The Reservation. The player of the game was Chippewa pitcher Juan Lara. Lara, the winner, moves to 5-2. He threw 7 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 5 and giving up 3 walks. An-te-hai Xin earned his 1st save in 1 chances.
The River Chiefs got a big at-bat from center fielder Marshall Clark. For the game, Clark went 1-3 with a home run and was hit by a pitch, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once. In the bottom of the fifth, with a runner on 1st, he stroked a 2-run home run. His 1st home run of the season gave Chippewa a 3-2 lead.
"I thought we played a nice game," Lara told the Chippewa Today. "Good pitching, timely hitting, it was all there."
The River Chiefs bumped their record to 53-41 with this latest triumph.
