Jedi Knights Pull Off Thrilling Win in Extras
|
The Jedi Knights grabbed a win, 2-1, at The Pond, overcoming a fine effort from Nichols pitcher Chris Lembke. Lembke went 8 innings and allowed 1 earned run. Lorenzo Pena got the save, his 3rd in 4 chances. The Gnats, now 32-60, have lost 12 straight.
The Jedi Knights got a big at-bat from pinch hitter Leamon Evans. For the game, Evans went 1-1. In the top of the 11th, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring single. His 6th hit of the season gave New Orleans a 2-1 lead.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said New Orleans manager Mason Eilers.
