Houston beat Eugene on the strength of starter Greg Finley's fine effort. The left-hander led his team to a 11-2 win. The win puts the Sting at 44-47, while the Emeralds drop to 49-44.

Houston relied on the hitting of Cliff Berk to pick up the win. The center fielder clubbed a 3-run home run in the top of the third inning to put the Sting on top, 10-0. For the game, Berk had 1 home run and 1 single in 5 at-bats.
